A mug from the Zoo children’s tableware designed by Anja Juurikkala for Arabia. The decoration was designed in 1950. The series did not get its name from the human figures on the mugs, but from the animals that appear on the plates and on the later-produced new Zoo mug. In the early years the pieces were also sold to the United States, from where a complaint was made that the mug was racist because it lacked a white person. As a result, the mug’s decoration was changed to the animal motifs familiar from the plates. The mug’s height is 7 cm, diameter 7.4 cm and capacity 25 cl. The mug for sale is intact and otherwise in good condition.
