The Ara department was founded by Kurt Ekholm in 1938.
ARA products were made from domestic red faience, ara-massasta, which was coated with a light tin glaze and the decorations were painted freehand.
Ara products were stamped with an oval ARA-stamp.
In addition to Ekholm, Ara products were designed by the artists Michael Schilkin, Toini Muona and Kaj Franck.
The department was in operation until 1950.
The vase for sale has a few glaze defects visible in the pictures.
Otherwise the wall vase is intact and in good condition.
The height of the vase is 14.5 cm.
