Arabian Ara department was founded by Kurt Ekholm in 1938.
Ara products were made from domestic red faience, ara mass, which was covered with a light tin glaze and the decorations were painted freehand. In addition to the tin glaze, an ochre-coloured matte glaze was used. Ara products were stamped with an oval ARA stamp. Besides Ekholm, Ara products were designed by the artists Michael Schilkin, Toini Muona and Kaj Franck. The department was in operation until 1950.
The height of the ARA jug made of red faience for sale is 13.5 cm.
The jug is intact and otherwise in good condition.
